Who are the Righteous?[1]

Shaykh ‘Abdul-Kareem al-Khudayr, may Allaah preserve him.

The righteous is the one who upholds Allaah’s rights and the rights of His slaves.

The believer should endeavour to be from the righteous so they are not deprived of the people’s supplication for them, of peace. ‘May peace be upon us and upon Allaah’s righteous slaves’[2]. This is a statement that has been said from the time of Muhammad sall Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam to the last Muslim, repeating it in every prayer.

So the one who is not described with righteousness has robbed themselves of the supplication of the Muslims through the passing of ages. And this is a great denial – would you not love to have supplication made for you by millions while you are unaware? And deny yourself of this supplication? Rather, you should hasten, striving against yourself, to be described with this attribute.
